QMDB filter options
Why do I get “no rows to show” when I select AbsoluteIDQ p180 as assay in the filter options?
In the current QMDB version, all data was obtained with the MxP Quant 500 kit. In the future, we will also add data obtained with the AbsoluteIDQ p180 kit
How are the fitness categories defined?
Fitness was assessed with questionnaires regarding performance, frequency, or duration of various high intensity activities. Levels of physical activity and the time spent with high intensity activities were estimated from responses. Based on this, the participants were categorized as “not active”, “moderately active”, “active”, or “highly active”. The high intensity activity categories correlate with the total physical activity. Note that even participants in the highest category are usually not athletes, they are just more active than average. Note that in samples from other studies to be added to the QMDB in the future, fitness may not have been assessed in exactly the same way. Thus, the fitness categories should be considered an approximate labeling. For the BLSA study and the GESTALT study, the largest contributors to the database, the fitness categorization is detailed in

- Brach, J.S. et al.: The Association Between Physical Function and Lifestyle Activity and Exercise in the Health, Aging and Body Composition Study. J Am Geriatr Soc 52:502–509, 2004. Note that even participants in the highest activity category are usually not athletes. They are just more active than other study participants.
Why is there an option to only use samples present at a certain date?
This is a form of version control. New samples are added to the QMDB regularly. The option to use samples present at a certain date enables users to proceed with the QMDB with the exact same samples it had at a certain date, e.g., when they first used the QMDB. This way, users can ensure the comparability of their present calculations to earlier calculations.
Is it possible to include dietary habits, menopausal status, medication and supplements in the filter options?
We would love to offer these additional filter options. Unfortunately, we do not have the data on this for the samples currently included in the QMDB.
Could you offer more granular filter options for smoking, e.g., pack-years?
We would love to offer more granular filter options. Unfortunately, we do not have the data on this for the samples currently included in the QMDB.
Why is there no option to filter for the medical status?
All participants underwent a medical screening and only individuals without current or chronic psychological or physiological illnesses were selected for the QMDB. Therefore, all participants have the medical status “healthy”.
Is there an option to visualize the selected filter options after calculation of the reference ranges?
The selected filter options are not shown in or above the calculated table so that users can view a larger part of the table. The filter options selected can be easily checked by clicking the filter options button. All selected filter options are shown in the export above the concentration range table by default.
What is this “restrict to own data” feature?
If you or your organization has contributed data to the QMDB, this feature enables a restriction of the samples considered for the table calculations to this own data, facilitating a comparison of your data to the whole QMDB.
